How to Set up the Signals Gateway using Madgicx

Use the Signals Gateway by Madgicx to:

  • Create data pipelines to send even more events from your brand URLs
  • Leverage our infrastructure to reduce development expenses
  • Have more control over how you handle the data you gather
  • Choose where you want the data to be stored
  • Increase optimization efficiency with more reliable data

In this guide, we’ll walk you through setting up the Meta Signals Gateway with Madgicx in just a few steps. Madgicx provides a partner-hosted solution for the Meta Signals Gateway, eliminating the need to hire developers to do it for you. While it requires some initial setup, following our guide below makes it straightforward.

First, let’s see what it does.

What is the Signals Gateway?

Your Meta Pixel and the Conversions API help to track website and app events data, and the Signals Gateway allows you to send this data (datasets) to destinations other than Meta, like how the Conversions API Gateway sends data to Meta.

It provides a secure environment that observes data privacy laws without needing third-party software or a team of developers to implement it.

With the Signals Gateway, you can:

  • Measure more website events by creating a new type of pixel (1P Pixel) to track activity across multiple domains and other digital touchpoints and measure more website events.
  • Connect to your cloud data to create data pipelines from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and upload .csv files.
  • See detailed analytics of each data pipeline to make sense of your event activity.
  • Measure advertising performance with event tracking across multiple domains.
  • Have more control over the data you manage with more flexible data handling options like choosing where the data is kept.
  • Adhere to privacy laws and regulations and respect users’ choices.

Here are the instructions:

  1. Set up the Signals Gateway by Madgicx via the Events Manager

In the Meta Business Manager, under Business Settings, open the Events Manager.

Click “Partner integrations” at the bottom of the left menu and select Signals Gateway from the list.

Select it and click “Get Started,” then choose “Host with a partner.”

Select Madgicx from the list of partners.

Accept the terms and conditions, and click “Connect.”

Click “Claim account” and open the new browser window.

Provide your details and choose a monthly, quarterly, or annual payment plan. Then, click Start your 10-day free trial.

On completion, you’ll see this success screen, where you should click the “Go to Madgicx” button and set your password in the next step.

Enter a username and password for your Madgicx account and click “Set password.”

Enter more details to set up your workspace, including the email address you want to receive your setup instructions.

Accept Meta’s Terms of Service and click “Continue.”

You’ll go to the Meta Conversions API powered by Madgicx page. Your new signal will be listed here (this is where you’ll find your real-time dashboard once everything is connected). Click the “Setup Account” button at the far right of your screen to name your signal and continue the setup.

A new tab will open where you can create your Signals Gateway account. Enter your email address, set your password, and click “Create Account.”

You’ll arrive on the “Data pipelines” page with your new signal listed on the page. Click the “Continue setup” button.

You’ll go back to Madgicx, where you should click the “Setup Destination” button to determine where the data is held.

Next, select the Meta business portfolio you want to connect. Choose the correct one and click “Continue.”

Now, you must select the dataset you want to include in the new signal.

Now that your signal setup is complete, click “Done” and go back to Madgicx.

You are done 😃

  1. Set up the Signals Gateway from inside Madgicx

In the Madgicx app, go to “Madgicx Cloud Tracking” from the Analytics menu on the left. Give your new account a name and add your email address. Select the “Signals Gateway” option and click the “Fix Tracking” button.

Check your email and accept the invitation from the Madgicx team. Then, go to signals.madgicx.cc, sign into the Signals Gateway, and click the “Setup Destination” button.

Now, you’ll see a list of your data pipelines. Click “Continue setup.”

Click the plus sign (+) on the next screen to set the destination.

Select where you want your pipeline to publish the event data—we recommend Meta–-and click “Connect” to complete this part of the setup.

Head back to Madgicx to continue with the next stage of the setup process.

Final step: Connect your Pixel to the Signals Gateway

Now that you’ve set up the Signals Gateway and your new 1P Pixel, you must connect it to your Meta dataset (where your Meta Pixel and/or Conversions API is managed). Your 1P Pixel is different from the Meta Pixel and must be connected to your other Meta business assets.

Go back to Madgicx Cloud Tracking in the Madigcx app by clicking the Optimization icon in the main Madgicx menu.

Click the “Fix Setup” button to connect your new 1P Pixel to the Signals Gateway, where you can create your new 1P Pixel (here are Meta’s instructions on how to do it).

A pop-up will open where you can copy your new 1P Pixel code and install it on your website yourself or copy the instructions to send to your web developer.

Copy it to your clipboard in order to click the “Continue” button.

Next, you’ll see a confirmation message to say you’ve started the setup process. You should install the pixel yourself or send it to your web developer now.

Once your new 1P Pixel is installed on your website, you should go back to Madgicx to test if it’s receiving data. Return to the Madgicx app and go to Conversions API powered by Madgicx page. Click on your new signal to check that the data is being recorded.

When you connect a Meta dataset, you also connect the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API within this dataset.

Notes:

  • Your Meta Pixel settings will automatically be applied to your Signals Gateway Pixel (1P Pixel).
  • A new Conversions API Gateway pipeline is created with this Meta Pixel if it doesn’t exist already.
  • To complete the setup process, you must add your Signals Gateway Pixel to the same website as your existing Meta Pixel.

Monitor your dashboard over the next 10 days to track event increases.

You’re done 🥳
